The Shelter house was started in mid May 2008. It lies on the south-eastern outskirt of Jakarta, in a small town called Pondok Gede. The house is actually a private residence belonging to one of the young people of Indonesia who started the Mighty Eagle Foundation.

The house is open to recieve children in the neighborhood whose parents are scavengers. There are at least 2 'villages' that has been formed by scanvengers in that area. The parents of these children are welcome to send their kids off to the shelter house and we give them nutritious food, milk, clothes to wear and basic eduction -- a luxury that they can never afford.

We have at least 25 children coming to the shelter house and growing. Children of the 2 villages are telling others who are just as unfortunate where they can have food, clothes and basic education for free. Although we are happy to be able to help even more children in the neighborhood, we are struggling to provide them with more food, more milk, more clothes and more workers to clean, cook and teach.
